FE geometry is topology on top of mesh, meaning CAD and mesh exist as a single entity. The purpose of FE geometry
is to add vertices, edges, surfaces, and solids on FE models which have no CAD geometry.
The Well Plot tool cross plots MD, TVD, etcetera, against one or more results along the well depth typically obtained
using the mapping tool. It is used to plot any result on the well elements (1D elements) along the path of the well.
Mapping allows the transfer of results onto 3D, 2D,1D, or 0D elements that were
initially not part of the simulation.
Uses include populating a different 3D discretization (for example, a reservoir
model), populating faults not included in the simulation, populating well paths for
log-based analyses, and populating points such as leak-off test and seismic event
locations for model calibration.
Import demo-with-wells-faults.inp and
demo-eff-geo.h3d model files.
Choose the model file which contains the source information to be mapped and
set this to Active model.
Select components add image and target.
Open mapping dialog from the ribbon.
Choose destination file path.
Choose S-Global-Stress components IP as main stress to
map.
Select Increment 0 and Increment
8 simulation from the loadcases table.
Select the required results from the results type table to propagate into the
new h3d file.
Select Map.
Mapping Results file and log file are generated in the destination
folder. A confirmation message about the mapping appears once the operation is
complete
