Surface Results

The purpose of this tool is to derive additional results on the 2D planar surfaces.

The planar results calculations are typically used on fault and fracture planes to evaluate stress and strain on faults and to predict fault reactivation.
  1. Import the /3D_2D-HextoQuads.inp and /mapp_quads.h3d from the tutorials model files.
  2. From the GeoD results tab, select the contour icon next to the Slip tendency parameter.

    The Fault dialog is displayed. Fill in the values as shown below:

  3. Isolate components with names 1,2 and 3 respectively, to visualize the slip tendency along these surfaces.
    The same result can be manually created from HV using the expression builder tool.
