FORCE

Bulk Data Entry Defines a static force at a grid point or a SET of grid points by specifying a vector.

It can also be used to define the EXCITEID field (Amplitude "A") of dynamic loads in RLOAD1, RLOAD2, TLOAD1, and TLOAD2 Bulk Data Entries.

Grid or scalar point identification number.

GSETID:

An identification for a SET of grid points. In this case, the GSET continuation line must be specified.
Integer
Specifies an identification number for the set.
<String>
Specifies a user-defined string label for the set. 4

CID Coordinate system identification number. A CID of zero or blank references the basic coordinate system.

Default = 0 (Integer ≥ 0, or blank)

 
F Scale factor.

N1,N2,N3 Components of vector measured in the coordinate system defined by CID.

GSET Flag which indicates that the GID/GSETID field is identified as a SET of grid points at which the forces are applied.  
FLLW Follower load activation options flag.
ROT
Activates the follower effect based on the rotation of the node, if either of the following is specified:
  • PARAM, FLLWER
  • FLLW Bulk Data Entry (along with the FLLWER Subcase Information Entry).
Blank (Default)
The follower effect is not activated even if either of the following is specified:
  • PARAM, FLLWER
  • FLLW Bulk Data Entry (along with the FLLWER Subcase Information Entry).

Comments

  1. The static force applied to grid point GID is given by:(1)
    f = F N

    Where, N is the vector defined in fields 6, 7, and 8.

  2. Supported local entries in specific parts can be referenced by the use of 'fully-qualified references' on FORCE entries in the model. A fully-qualified reference (PartName.number) is similar to the format of a numeric reference. PartName is the name of the part that contains the referenced local entry (part names are defined on the BEGIN Bulk Data Entry in the model). number is the identification number of a referenced local entry in the part PartName. See Parts and Instances in the User Guide for detailed information on the use of fully-qualified references.
  3. The rotation-based follower option, FLLW=ROT is not available if the node does not have rotational degrees of freedom.
  4. String based labels allow for easier visual identification of sets, including when being referenced by other cards. For more details, refer to String Label Based Input File in the Bulk Data Input File.
  5. This card is represented as a force load in HyperMesh.
