This parameter defines the distance below which the end points of gap/contact elements (for example, the GA and GB fields of the CGAP Bulk Data Entry) are considered coincident (as they may be too close to define the gap direction accurately).

Comments

  1. Currently, for CGAP and CGAPG elements, the default minimum distance is set at an absolute value of 1.0e-4. For CONTACT, it is calculated automatically according to element size on the main face, in which case it is automatically scaled if there is a change in units.
  2. This parameter is automatically included in the <filename>.contgap.fem file, which is an ASCII format file generated when CONTPRM,CONTGAP,YES is used.
